RACGP demands payroll tax action – as one GP says practice will close over $800,000 bill

Doctors groups say premiers need to act, or risk practices closing over tax.

The RACGP has warned practices will close over new payroll tax rulings in two states, unless Victorian and NSW premiers step in to provide relief from the looming “catastrophe”.

As previously reported in AusDoc, GP contractors now appear to be subject to payroll tax under the latest rulings from the Victorian and NSW state revenue offices.
