RACGP draft standards ‘more red and green tape’ for overworked GP staff, says practice owner

The RACGP’s draft accreditation standards show a “fundamental misunderstanding of how we can deliver value in general practice”, a prominent practice owner says.
The college released a 115-page draft of its sixth-edition accreditation standards last week, which GP practices would have to follow to access the $500 million Practice Incentives Program.
Under it, practices would have to ensure that all staff were vaccinated based on the “risks associated with their role”, not just promote vaccinations.
“The exact immunisation requirements and recommendations will depend on the risk of infection based on your practice’s location, patient population and each practice team member’s duties,” the draft says.
