RACGP fellowship exam: 600 ‘borderline’ candidates pay for second chance

The RACGP has released the results of its revamped OSCE exams showing that a total of 600 candidates paid $1100 each to sit an extra day after being marked ‘borderline’ between pass and fail.
As a result of the COVID-19 threat, the format of the exams was changed with candidates sitting the clinical exam remotely using the Zoom video-conferencing software.
Under changes introduced by the college last year, those candidates who passed nine or 10 of the 12 cases were deemed borderline and given the option of sitting four more cases just over a week later to demonstrate they met the standards required for fellowship.
The borderline candidates who took up the offer were charged a further $1,100 to cover costs of the assessment.
