RACGP lists its top 11 red-tape headaches for GPs

Getting GPs to phone for a PBS script and the abstract prose style of the MBS are on the migraine-inducing list.

If you have been repeating the same thing to the same people with the same result for the last 25 years, it can be good for mental wellbeing when someone makes themselves available to hear your pain (even if the outcome is the same).

The Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet is currently running something called Long-term Insight Briefings — a forum for big discussions on a “vision” for the future of government service delivery (code for bureaucratic pen-pushing).

The promise is that these briefings will shed light on “significant, complex and long-term issues that we may face as a country”.

Not one to waste an opportunity, the RACGP has put in a submission listing 11 species of headaches regularly experienced by GPs.
