RACGP offers 40 CPD points for GPs to ‘critically review’ their bulk-billing

The RACGP is offering a limited number of GPs 40 CPD points to “critically review” whether they should be bulk-billing patients.
Outgoing president Adjunct Clinical Professor Karen Price has spent almost a year encouraging private billing where possible, including a 90-minute webinar on how to explain new gap fees to patients.
It could put the college on a collision course with the Federal Government, particularly after the previous health minister Greg Hunt expressed his “disappointment” with the campaign.
But the college has taken it a step further as it prepares its annual Health of the Nation report — its annual analysis of key general practice issues based on Medicare data, government reports and a survey of its membership.
