RACGP offers exam-free fellowship option to fast-tracked IMGs

The pathway has brought in 208 GPs since October 2024.

IMGs who come through the Medical Board of Australia’s fast-track pathway will be eligible for exam-free RACGP fellowship after six months.

More than 200 GPs from the UK, Ireland and New Zealand have started working in Australia without RACGP assessment via the controversial new pathway since October 2024.

Now, the RACGP is offering fellowship to the fast-tracked GPs from comparable countries once they have completed their board-mandated six months of supervised practice.

“These doctors are already working safely in our communities,” RACGP Vice-President Dr Ramya Raman said in a statement.
