The RACGP has urged all state governments to embrace pill testing, following the lead of Queensland and the ACT.

The Queensland Government announced this weekend it would roll out mobile and ‘fixed site’ clinics offering chemical analysis of illegal drugs, in a bid to warn people about potentially deadly adulterants.

The college has backed the move, and called for a nationwide rollout.

“We know that many people who submit drugs for testing don’t take them when they find out what they actually contain,” RACGP president Dr Nicole Higgins said on Monday.
