RACP ordered to address bullying risks as rescue request shot down
SafeWork NSW says the college is in breach of work safety laws, while the ACNC has said members will need to be the ones to solve internal conflicts.
The RACP has suffered two regulatory hits, with its request to enter administration denied, and SafeWork NSW telling it to change its constitution because of bullying within the organisation.
College CEO Steffen Faurby told members on Wednesday about a SafeWork ‘mandatory improvement notice’ that concluded the college had breached workplace safety laws by failing to protect staff from bullying.
The notice, seen by AusDoc, said the college should change its constitution and its structure to protect staff and volunteers.
“The current system does not adequately manage the risk of harmful behaviour from all workers and/or volunteers within the operations of the board,” the notice said.
