The Royal Australasian College of Physicians is seeking a court order to postpone its AGM, scheduled for just over a week from now.

If it goes ahead, the AGM would see the recently elected president-elect — Melbourne paediatrician Dr Julian Kelly — and three new directors take their positions.

But lawyers for the college appeared before the Supreme Court of NSW today, seeking an order to delay the AGM until November.

It follows a month of chaos, with claims and counterclaims about who is the current chair, after last month’s EGM, when members apparently voted to remove college president Professor Jennifer Martin.
