Report on 9/11 health impacts paints devastating picture

Tens of thousands of people now have cancer or other serious health conditions linked to toxic dust from the 9/11 attack on the World Trade Center, a landmark new report shows.
Saturday marked the 20th anniversary of the terrorist attacks that killed some 3000 people, mostly in New York, when two commercial planes loaded with fuel hit the World Trade Center (WTC) towers.
About 400,000 other people were exposed to toxic dust, fumes from fires, and debris from damaged and collapsed buildings in New York.
Now, the devastating impact on their health has been laid bare through a Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) report released five days before the sad anniversary.
