Revamp means GPs will be able to vaccinate over-50s from next month

Australians over the age of 50 will be able to receive the AstraZeneca vaccine from next month as the nation’s leaders reset the coronavirus vaccination rollout.
The Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine will be restricted to patients under that age, except for high-risk groups such as aged and disability care residents and workers.
On Thursday Prime Minister Scott Morrison chaired national cabinet where state and territory leaders agreed on a rejig of the rollout in the wake of updated health advice.
Earlier this month the AstraZeneca coronavirus vaccine was linked to rare blood clots and was not recommended to Australians under 50.
