Scammers try to steal money from GPs buying tickets to international medical conference

WONCA organisers have urged GPs to be alert for fraudulent sites offering tickets to its Europe meeting.

Scammers are targeting GPs with fraudulent versions of an upcoming conference being staged by the World Organisation of Family Doctors.

Organisers have urged GPs who are considering buying tickets to the WONCA Europe Conference 2024, being held in Dublin in late September, to be vigilant.

They have warned that fake versions of the WONCA conference site are trying to convince GPs to pay hundreds of dollar for sham tickets to the event.

“These sites are designed to deceive you into believing they are associated with our event and may try to scam you into making payments,” conference organisers said in an email to members.
