Nurse consultant Felicity de Somerville says the release of the secret chapter from Robodebt isn't the end of the story.
As a newly graduated nurse aged 29, Felicity de Somerville found herself caught up in the notorious Robodebt scandal.
Living in Frankston in Melbourne at the time, she had taken her one-year-old daughter to a GP for upper respiratory symptoms in 2017. When she tried to pay for the consult, she could not. Her credit card had been declined.
It was then that she discovered that debt collectors had extracted $11,600 from her account without her knowledge.
“That was the equivalent of six months’ worth of wages for me,” Ms de Somerville tells AusDoc.
