Scott Morrison sends 585,000 letters urging older Aussies to get the AstraZeneca vax

The Federal Government will send letters to more than 585,000 yet-to-be-vaccinated patients aged 60-69, urging them to book an AstraZeneca vaccine without delay.
Signed by Prime Minister Scott Morrison, Minister for Health Greg Hunt and Commonwealth Chief Medical Officer Professor Paul Kelly, the letters aim to offer reassurance around the risks and benefits of the vaccine.
“The recent outbreaks of the new more infectious strains of the COVID-19 virus, with some tragic deaths in Sydney, make it even more important that Australians over 60 get vaccinated now,” the letter reads.
Greg Hunt has also indicated that GPs will be urged to contact their unvaccinated patients with personal phone calls and text messages to encourage them to get a shot.
