‘Scrubs Choir’ says thank you with Bruno Mars hit

More than 200 medical staff at Royal Melbourne Hospital took part in the video to let their community know they can 'Count on me'.

Doctors and nurses from Royal Melbourne Hospital have come together in a “scrubs choir” to say thank you to the community for their support over the COVID-19 months.

Their vocal tribute, an uplifting version of Bruno Mars’ hit Count On Me, has been put together in a most socially distanced way.

More than 200 staff made videos of themselves at home or at work playing guitars, singing, dancing in hospital corridors and even performing in Auslan.

Once staff submitted their footage, the hospital’s chief music therapist Dr Emma O’Brien (PhD) pulled it all together, with a backing track from the hospital’s music therapy team.
