Shortages of antipsychotic quetiapine ‘concerning’, says leading GP

GPs and patients have been caught off guard by a “concerning” shortage of the antipsychotic quetiapine.
According to the TGA, the 25mg version of quetiapine sold by Accord Healthcare is unavailable.
Meanwhile, there is limited availability of the 25mg version marketed by Sandoz.
The shortages have been attributed to manufacturing issues, with the problems beginning to appear for different brands between August and December last year, according to the TGA.
