Small town’s three-year global search for a GP ends with Quack Quest hit

A small-town practice’s three-year search for a GP is finally over after a music video it produced was spotted by a doctor in the Middle East.
With traditional job ads failing, the Temora Medical Complex in the NSW Riverina turned to social media in 2019.
Its video – called the Great Quack Quest – was a viral hit, reaching 25,000 viewers across Facebook and YouTube just 24 hours after it was uploaded.
But it wasn’t until last year that it was seen by Dr Sheraz Mumtaz, who was sent a link on a networking forum after he asked for recommendations on friendly country towns in Australia
