On Wednesday, the media unit at the Department of Health sent through the latest numbers for this year’s GP training cohort.

It wasn’t great news.

In short, some 80 GP registrar places will remain unfilled this year – a result little different from what’s been happening for the last five years.

Together, ACRRM and the RACGP last year received a combined total of 2160 applications for the 1500 places available.
