Surgeon appears in court while operating: US

Plastic surgeon Dr Scott Green tries to attend his 'Zoom' traffic offence trial from theatre, but the commissioner has concerns for his patient's welfare

A surgeon who attended a video court link for a traffic offence while apparently still operating on a patient is being investigated by the California Medical Board. 

Plastic surgeon Dr Scott Green dialled into the Sacramento Superior Court for a traffic offence, from an operating theatre, holding a surgical instrument  while wearing scrubs and a mask.

A court official checked he was ready to proceed, and that he was aware of the pandemic protocols, which meant all traffic offences were livestreamed.

"It kind of looks like you're in an operating room right now?" the court clerk asks in the video uploaded by the court to YouTube.

"I am, sir," Dr Green replied.

"Yes, I'm in an operating room right now. Yes, I'm available for trial. Go right ahead."

While waiting for the trial to proceed, he appeared to continue
