Surgeon reports ‘Zoom boom’ in cosmetic requests
Cosmetic surgeons are reporting an unexpected outcome of the COVID-19 lockdowns, with dozens of patients requesting neck liposuction after seeing themselves on the video call site Zoom.
Plastic surgeon and University of NSW lecturer Dr Laith Barnouti says he’s seen at least 30 patients who have been “shocked” by their necks and double chins on Zoom.
They requested neck liposuction to remove the unwanted folds.
He’s dubbed it the ‘Zoom liposuction boom’, and says colleagues have also noted similar requests.
