We would like to get your views on the Medicare Review Taskforce proposals on reforming GP items.

Among the draft recommendations released last month is changing the item descriptor for a GP management plan (item 721).

It would mean patients would have to spend a minimum of 40 minutes with the GP and other health professionals in the GP practice.

The task force is also suggesting scrapping the item for Team Care Arrangements (item 723) and allowing patients to access subsidised allied health services through a GP management plan (item 721).
