Telehealth corporate finds its rate of serious clinical errors ‘appears a little high’

Most errors were picked up before medication was dispensed, says Eucalyptus clinical director Dr Matthew Vickers.

The findings analysed audited consults including all consultations that an algorithm specifically identified as potential high-risk or critical errors, as well as random and ad hoc, new prescriber audits.

More than 1.5% of audited consults at telehealth corporate Eucalyptus had critical or high-risk errors, the company has found in a study of its GPs and nurse practitioners.

Eucalyptus’ telehealth sites include Juniper, which prescribes GLP-1 receptor agonists for women’s weight loss; men’s health site Pilot; women’s sexual health site Kin; and prescription skincare site Software.
