Telehealth MBS Quick Guide for July – FY25 rebates and updates

A handy guide to the most important telehealth and COVID-19 MBS items for general practice

The new financial year brings indexation of rebates and a raft of changes to items and exemptions to AusDoc’s Telehealth and COVID-19 MBS Items Quick Guide

From 1 July, the MBS item for level C phone consults for COVID antiviral assessment is no longer available.

Also on the chopping block are exemptions to the established practice rule for telehealth consultations, for patients who have tested positive to COVID in the previous week or who need a PCR referral for diagnosis.

Instead, the exemption applies only to patients with COVID who are isolating or in quarantine under a public health order. Currently, there are no such public health orders in place.
