Telehealth Quick Guide for November — mental health care overhaul and bulk-billing incentives
AusDoc’s Telehealth Quick Guide for November is now available and includes updated items and criteria for mental health services and bulk-billing incentive rebates now available to all Medicare card holders.
From 1 November, patients will satisfy the established clinical relationship criteria for telehealth consultations by being registered for MyMedicare with the practice.
Mental health treatment items will no longer be exempt from the usual MBS telehealth eligibility criteria. GP mental health consultation items and mental health care plan review items have been scrapped, with general attendance items intended to be used in their place. The remaining mental health care plan preparation items will only be billable when done at the patient’s MyMedicare-registered practice or by their usual doctor if the patient is not MyMedicare registered.
GP-focused psychological strategies services continue to be exempt from the telehealth eligibility criteria.
