AMA Queensland is bidding for a new limited registration category that would let senior doctors complete 10 hours of CPD a year to act as a reserve GP workforce and respond to emergencies.

It has presented a 17-page plan to Queensland Minister for Health Yvette D’Ath to create an “ongoing reserve of doctors” who would work unpaid “for community benefit”, partly inspired by the US Medical Reserve Corps.
