TGA takes bleach ‘cure’ company to court

Updated Wednesday 3 June: The original headline said the company was spruiking sodium chloride rather than chlorine dioxide. This has now been corrected.

Australia’s medicines regulator is taking legal action against a so-called healing church that continues to flog a bleach solution as a COVID-19 cure in defiance of an order not to.

Last month, the TGA  fined MMS Australia $151,200 for claiming its Miracle Mineral Supplement, also known as Miracle Mineral Solution or MMS, could be used to treat a range of conditions, including HIV, diabetes and cancer.

When combined with 4% hydrochloric acid, also sold by the group, the supplement it produces is chlorine dioxide, a powerful bleach.
