‘The bombing is getting closer every day’: Sydney doctor on aid mission trapped in Gaza

A Sydney emergency doctor trapped inside Gaza is pleading with the Australian Government to do more to get him and colleagues out of the war zone.
Dr Modher Albeiruti, who works at Fairfield Hospital and Wollongong Hospital, was part of an international volunteer mission to provide medical care inside the war-torn territory.
His two-week mission with the Palestinian American Medical Association was due to end on 13 May.
But he and 18 other healthcare workers from the US, Jordan and Egypt were denied exit when Israel seized and closed the Rafah border crossing between Gaza and Egypt on 7 May.
