Dr Chris Webster had medical records ready, splayed before him on the bench. Hospital staff were warned to keep clear.
He had even discussed his intentions with the director of medical services and the CEO at Leongatha Hospital.

“This is Dr Chris Webster calling from Leongatha Hospital. I have a concern regarding a patient that presented here earlier that has left the building and is potentially exposed to a fatal toxin,” Dr Webster calmly told the operator.
