When Dr Mark Horowitz first decided it was time to stop taking antidepressants, he faced conflicting advice about what to expect.
‘Mild and brief’ was the widely cited line on withdrawal symptoms in academic research, the trainee psychiatrist says.
But posts in a popular online forum called ‘Surviving Antidepressants’ told a different story.
“People said it was almost impossible to come off these drugs,” Dr Horowitz tells AusDoc.
