What you need to know about the new aged care incentive

The incentive is the second to be rolled out under MyMedicare.

Rural practices accessing the new aged care incentive can provide four of their eight annual visits via telehealth if required, the Department of Health and Aged Care says.

The incentive, for patients enrolled in MyMedicare, will start rolling out next month.

To receive $300 a year, GPs must provide two visits per quarter — each in a separate calendar month over a 12-month period.

They must also deliver two care planning services within the same time frame.
