GP deemed Westfield attacker fit to hold a gun licence: inquest

Joel Cauchi, who fatally stabbed six people in a Westfield shopping centre, had been deemed fit to hold a gun licence by a GP three years earlier, a coroner has heard.

Mr Cauchi had been “floridly psychotic” when he armed himself with a 30cm-long knife and rampaged through Sydney’s Bondi Junction Westfield in April last year.
