ED crisis worsening in part due to ‘fixation on ramping’
A senior emergency doctor has described EDs in WA as the worst he has seen in almost two decades, blaming a “fixation” on ambulance ramping for causing bad outcomes.
Dr Peter Allely, who has been director of emergency medicine at Perth’s Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital since 2014, said staff were too often working under conditions akin to a “disaster situation”.
