Slumping vaccination rate key factor behind record flu numbers: RACGP

Australia is in the midst of its worst flu season on record, with falling vaccination rates among children and older adults fuelling the surge, the RACGP warns. 

More than 410,000 cases of influenza have been reported this year, surpassing 2024’s record of 365,000 cases, and marking the highest total since national surveillance began.
