Capacity assessments, especially those for fitness-to-drive, are tasks very few GPs enjoy given the impact on the therapeutic relationship if it results in restrictions to their patient’s independence.

Clinical neuropsychologist Dr Jane Lonie (PhD) is attempting to offer a solution, setting up a clinic located at Macquarie University in Sydney offering medical and legal advice to patients referred by their GP for assessment.
