‘They were at the point where they wanted to give up’: How this RN helps women with the toll of endometriosis
RN Gill Gordon understands better than most the pain, isolation and information overload that can accompany endometriosis.
At 27, she was diagnosed with stage 4 endometriosis, experiencing firsthand the emotional toll it can take even with clinical understanding of the condition improving in recent decades.
While volunteering at QENDO, a Brisbane-based not-for-profit support service — where she now works — she helped establish a free multidisciplinary treatment program for other patients.
“I was having a chat with Jess Taylor, the CEO, and I said it would be really great if QENDO had some nurse support,” Ms Gordon told AusDoc.
