Dr Danielle Allan was enjoying life as a rural generalist when a suddenly swollen and sore right leg signalled yet another curveball that would change the trajectory of her career
A former travel agent who became a nurse before making it as a doctor, she was diagnosed with stage 3 kidney cancer three years ago.
“Things were great professionally at the time, and personally I had just built a house,” Dr Allan tells AusDoc.
“I thought ‘This is it, this is my time.’”
