Thirty neurosurgeons come out in support of Dr Charlie Teo

A group of neurosurgeons from Australia and overseas have defended Dr Charlie Teo against “media slurs”, including claims he operated on the wrong side of two patients’ brains.
Thirty doctors penned a statement in support of Dr Teo, saying they are “saddened” to read of the stories which “only serve to diminish the outstanding work Charlie has contributed to the neurosurgical profession over many years”.
They point to his charitable work, commitment to training neurosurgeons in “less fortunate countries” and brain tumour research.
“As neurosurgical colleagues of Dr Charlie Teo, we have worked with, been taught by and consulted with him on many complex cases over the last 20 years,” they wrote.
