Three in four GPs losing love for the job: AusDoc survey

Three-quarters of GPs are losing enthusiasm for their chosen vocation because of their experiences dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic, an Australian Doctor survey suggests.
Of almost 500 GPs and GP registrars who responded to the poll, 75% said the pandemic had sapped their love for general practice, with only 5% saying it had improved their enthusiasm for the role.
About two-thirds (64%) said working in general practice during the pandemic had negatively impacted their personal relationships, including with their family.
And more than 30 months into the pandemic, the struggle to source PPE remained a common theme.
