Three-hour mandatory COVID-19 vaccine training ‘wastes GP time’, says RACGP

It takes longer than a Lord of the Rings movie, but with less of the excitement

The mandatory training course for GPs to administer COVID-19 vaccinations is a “time sink” full of irrelevant detail and information doctors already know, the RACGP says.

The Federal Government launched the module on Monday, promising it would ensure a smooth rollout of its mass vaccination program with minimal wastage or complications.

But developed by the Australian College of Nursing, the online course takes between three and four hours to complete, longer than a Lord of the Rings movie but with less excitement.

It includes seven sections covering COVID-19, vaccine administration and storage.
