Top doctor to front inquiry on contact tracing

Victorian Chief Health Officer Brett Sutton is expected to give evidence at a parliamentary inquiry into the state’s COVID-19 contact tracing system.
The upper house inquiry, chaired by Reason Party MP Fiona Patten, is also expected to hear from state virus testing head Jeroen Weimar as well as Australia’s chief scientist Dr Alan Finkel (PhD).
Clusters including the Cedar Meats abattoir outbreak, and those at Islamic schools in Melbourne’s north and west, are also expected to be looked at by the Legal and Social Issues Committee.
“Through this inquiry we want to make sure that we have the best possible COVID-19 tracing and testing in Victoria so that we can stay COVID safe in the months ahead,” Ms Patten said in a statement.
