Infectious diseases specialist Professor Robert Booy has called for councils to ban events held by the Australian Vaccination-risk Network (AVN) that plans to take its anti-vax message on tour around the country.

The AVN has announced it will hit the road in July in a 10 m bus called ‘Vaxxed’ to spread awareness of what is calls the “dangers of compulsory vaccination”.

The group plans to take the bus all over Australia to screen films including Vaxxed: From Cover-Up to Catastrophe, and to collect stories from families whose “children have who have died or been permanently injured by vaccinations”.

It would also “perform citizen journalism that Aussie corporate media refuses to do”, the group said of the tour that is being funded by AVN supporters.
