Treating shoulder pain with corticosteroid injections and lavage for calcific rotator cuff tendinopathy “appears to be useless”, a Norwegian research team reports.

They say their findings call into question treatment guidelines for calcific tendinopathy, as their study shows ultrasound-guided lavage yields the same result as no treatment at all.
