British doctor and journalist Dr Michael Mosley has been reported missing while on holiday in Greece, sparking a search-and-rescue operation.

Dr Mosley, who has type 2 diabetes, is known for presenting for UK national broadcaster the BBC and popularising the 5:2 diet, which endorses intermittent fasting.

He is most famous in medical circles for pushing to change type 2 diabetes guidelines to acknowledge that diet and weight loss can lead to remission.

His latest show Australia’s Sleep Revolution — which also featured politicians Barnaby Joyce, Jacquie Lambie and Dr Mike Freelander — premiered in March this year.
