‘Twisted situation’: GP speaks out after being stripped of her specialist registration
This week, Australian Doctor revealed that up to 200 doctors had been asked to prove that they were qualified GPs following an administrative bungle by AHPRA.
Dr Veronica Stewart has been a doctor for more than 40 years, working as a locum across the country.
She says she spent almost a year in a stand-off with AHPRA after being told she was required to surrender her specialist registration because she had not “fulfilled their requirements” when her name was included on the national register when it was first set up in 2010.
