A takeover deal has seen two of Australia’s after-hours providers join together with a combined GP workforce of around 400.

GP-led DoctorSquare, which was formerly owned by Sonic Health, has secured 24/7 Healthcare: a 30-year-old company that runs after-hours corporate 13Sick and a telehealth service.

The final sale amount has not been disclosed because of confidentiality agreements, but investment firm MA Growth Ventures says it provided $20 million, along with funding from CommBank’s health division.

The deal brings together around 350 GPs under 13Sick with DoctorSquare’s 50-odd GPs — mainly across Queensland, Victoria, NSW and SA.
