Two GPs test positive for COVID-19 after patient contact

After the clinic shuts down, authorities scramble to trackdown those at risk of infection

GPs at a medical practice have tested positive for coronavirus, prompting authorities to issue a public health alert for anyone who attended the clinic over a 16-day period.

On Monday, NSW Health announced that the two doctors at the A2Z Medical Centre in Sydney had been diagnosed with COVID-19.

All staff at the clinic are isolating and are being tested while the clinic undergoes deep cleaning, authorities say.

The GP cases have been linked to a previously reported case of unknown source, a patient who attended the Lakemba Radiology medical imaging centre, across the road from the clinic.
