Two-thirds of doctors fear they will infect family members with COVID-19 amid PPE shortages

Over 60% of doctors fear they will infect their families with COVID-19 as a result of their clinical work.
The results of a survey of over 4500 doctors once again exposed the concerns over access to adequate PPE, with the majority of respondents saying that their workplace lacks sufficient supplies to safely deal with the pandemic threat over the coming month.
Conducted by medical defence organisation Avant last week, the member survey also triggered 3000 comments from doctors across all specialties as well as those in training.
Dr Penny Browne, Avant’s chief medical officer, said many of the doctors taking part wanted accurate information on the availability of PPE, as well as guidance on how to use it optimally when it was available.
