An unvaccinated teacher in the US spread coronavirus to half her students in a case that suggests the Deltra strain could run rampant among kids in classrooms if staff are not immunised.

Last week, the country's Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) released details of the outbreak in a small Californian school to highlight the importance of vaccines, masking and appropriate ventilation.

The unvaccinated teacher worked at a school in Marin with 24 teachers – 22 vaccinated — and 205 students
