Most urgent care clinics struggling to fulfil promised opening hours amid GP shortage
The Federal Government has acknowledged that some clinics have been unable to recruit the doctors and nurses they need.

Only around a quarter of the 58 GP urgent care clinics are managing the 8am-10pm opening hours promised by the Federal Government back in 2022.Â
For some, the problem is the shortage of GPs.
The Border Urgent Care Clinic in Albury, NSW, is open 8.30am-5pm on weekdays and 10am-2pm on weekends, having launched six months ago.
