Doctors win injunction blocking vaccine decisions by RFK Jr’s hand-picked committee
Judge Brian Murphy ruled that downgrading vaccination recommendations for hepatitis and influenza was likely done illegally.
A judge has temporarily restored US recommendations that all children be vaccinated against influenza and hepatitis after a legal challenge by doctors.
Six medical groups had taken Robert Kennedy Jr to court over the removal of five vaccines from the universal childhood vaccine schedule in January 2026 — hepatitis A, hepatitis B, influenza, meningococcal ACWY and rotavirus.
They also argued that the US Health Secretary’s decision to sack and replace the entire Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) in July 2025 was illegal.
On Tuesday, US District Court Judge Brian Murphy granted a preliminary injunction reversing the schedule changes and barring 13 of the 15 new ACIP members from voting.
